Smokey is very upstanding and has a presence about her in the show ring. Her mammary is flawless with an incredibly smooth fore and a high, wide, well-attached rear. Like her dam, Smokey is only getting better with age with two Best Doe in Show wins in 2007.  We were unable to save any of her kids in 2008 following a very difficult vet-assisted kidding.  However, she came into her milk and earned her star on DHIR test.  Smokey presented us with a big, beautiful, cou clair doe sired by Iron-Rod Rhett Stetson on March 27, 2009.  She is definitely a keeper!  In order to keep our number of milkers low this year, Smokey will take the year off.

WOW! What can we say about Tamara...she was such a strong doe even as she aged and it was definately a pleasure to have the opportunity to raise and own such a beautiful doe! She was Amy's instant favorite and became her "go-to" showmanship doe where she gracefully helped Amy dominate the showmanship ring. Tamara also proved herself in the show ring with her consistently high placings year after year and in her ability to produce quality offspring. We loved so many traits about Tam, especially her strong, level topline, width throughout, excellent rear leg set, and high, wide rear udder. We basically have two genetic lines in the herd, the Tamara line and the Stardust line, therefore much of the herd is related to Tam in some way. Animals in our present herd that are descended from Tam are Taylor Made, Malibu, Misty, Heartache, Fritzi, Kizi, Harlee, Scamper, Ramie, Flair, Cinnamon, and Maddie. Tamara finished her championship in 1999 under Harvey Considine, and continued her winning ways for many more years to follow. In 2006, she earned Superior Genetics status based on type. Tam more than earned her keep and officially "retired," where she gracefully lived out the rest of her life on our farm.

GRATEFUL is the word that best describes our feelings toward our beautiful Stardust. On April 5, 2006, Stardust had a very difficult kidding and soon went down with what we believe to have been founder. She had a long road ahead of her and there were many days we felt that the most humane thing we could do was to put her to sleep. But, Stardust was a strong fighter and never gave up. She battled her illness all summer and is now back to a healthy weight and enjoying being a goat again. We are truly grateful for every single day we have with Stardust since that fateful day. We also know that the days we have with Stardust would not be possible without the help we had from Angie Peevy during her rehab. Thanks so much, Angie!

Stardust was a strong competitor in the show ring up until her kidding in 2006. She completed her championship in October 2002 under Kristopher Fraley, and also won under Shelia Nixon a few months before. Even at ten, she remained competitive in the show ring by going Best of Breed and contending for Best Doe in Show at the TennesseeValley Fair in Knoxville. She is long and level with a wide, flat rump. She has an excellent, well-attached, glove-soft udder and several Best Udder awards to her credit. Her offspring are continuining her winning ways. Her 2005 daughter, Dream Dust, earned her dry leg as a junior kid at Knoxville. She had a CH son, Sutton's AR Sabre, who was Best Buck in Show over 80+ bucks at the 2005 Rutfest in Florida, who was sadly lost in 2006. Sabre was owned by Corey Peacock & Family. Her 2006 doe kid, Grand Finale, is a very special doe. Finale earned her dry leg at only 2 months old and continued winning at the fall shows. We anticipate Finale followingin her mother's footsteps. Other animals in the herd that are related to Stardust include: CH Smokey, SGCH Dixie Belle 1*M, GCH Rebel 2*M, Misty Moonlight 1*M,  CH Dream Dust, Destiny, Rebelation, Anklet, Scamper, Rally, Emily, Pickles, Snikles, Malibu, Dakota, and Chico. It gives us great joy to be able to say that Stardust is now retired and living the life of luxury!

Taffy was one of the first Alpines we got from Ron & Linda Lewis of Milk-N-Honey Farm. She represented some of the old, proven bloodlines of the Alpine breed. Taffy was definately the doe who was always the "herd boss" and proved it to the other girls up until the end. She earned her "retirement" and lived out the rest of her life in peace and contentment on our farm.

Apache is a very elegant doe who more than fulfilled our expectations for her. She completed her championship in 2005 as a three-year-old. Apache also proved to be our most consistent milker as evidenced by her one-day test scores while maintaining an excellent mammary. Her rear udder is high and well-rounded into the escutcheon while her fore uddder is smooth & seamless with an incredible area of attachment. Apache is level across her topline, smoothly blended, and has flat, open ribbing.  Apache achieved Superior Genetics status in 2008.  She was Best Doe in Show in Monroe, GA in 2008 and as the judge said, she has nothing left to prove.  She had a buck and a doe sired by Iron Rod Sullivan Advance in March 2008.  Her doe kid (Abigail) is staying with us and the buck in now in the Schneeflock herd in Alabama.  Apache now resides with Michael & Stacy Atkinson in South Carolina.

Bright Eyes was one of our favorites and certainly continues to make her presence known in the barn and at shows. She is wide, deep, and strong, yet very dairy. She scored "E" in shoulder assembly, rear legs, and back. Her udder is absolutely plastered on both fore and rear, although it does tend to be a little flat in back. Bright Eyes was Best Doe in show & Best Georgia Born, Bred, & Raised (GA Farm Bureau $250 Award) in 2005.  Bright Eyes finished her championship in 2008 at the Monroe, GA show.  She now resides with Michael & Stacy Atkinson in South Carolina.

Sunrise is a rather "plain Jane" kind of doe but a very solid performer.  She achieved Superior Genetics status on type with an FS-91 (EEEE) score.  Sunrise is very smoothly blended with "E" in shoulder assembly, back, rump and mammary.  Her udder is high and well-rounded in the rear and smooth and thightly attached in front.  Teat placement and size make her a joy to milk.  Her daughter in the herd, Sutton's GM Starburst, looks just like her at the same age.  Sunrise in now owned by Michael & Stacy Atkinson of South Carolina.

Fudge is a doe we haven't shown because her fore udder attachment is just not as snug as we would like. However, she is trouble-free and gives lots of milk - easily gaining her star on a one day milk test. She is very dairy and smoothly blended, scoring "E" in shoulder assembly. We also love her strong, Alpine head.

Tip developed mastitis in 2005 and suffered damage to her udder which has prevented her from showing since then. She appraised "E" in mammary before she developed mastitis. Tip is smoothly blended with "E" in shoulder assembly, head, back, and rump. We retained Tip's 2006 buck, Amy's Pride MAG Titan to use in our herd. Her 2007 doe kid, Taylor Made, is also being retained.
